Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to the Sweden national team

Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will return to the Swedish national football team, Fotbolldirekt reports.

Ibrahimovic will be called up to the national team for the upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying matches with the teams of Georgia (March 25) and Kosovo (March 28), as well as for a friendly match with the Estonian team (March 31).

The official line-up of the Swedish national team for the upcoming matches will be announced on March 16.

The Swedes did not play in the final stage until the 1992 UEFA European Championship, but they have not missed any of the last six EUROs.

The media reported that 39-year-old Ibrahimovic might resume playing for the Swedish national team to play at the European Championships. In the EURO group stage, which has been postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the coronavirus, the Swedes will play against Spain, Poland and Slovakia.

Ibrahimovic finished playing for the Swedish national team in 2016. The footballer played 116 matches for the national team, in which he scored 62 goals.

This season, the striker has 16 goals in 21 meetings for Milan.
