Zarif said Iran is ready to exchange prisoners with the United States

As the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic noted, six months ago he notified the US representatives of the readiness for this process.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed the readiness of the authorities to the exchange of prisoners with the United States. Reuters reported on Wednesday.

“Let’s make an exchange… I am ready to do it, and I have the authority to do it,” – leads the Agency Zarif’s statement, made on Wednesday in the New York public organization Asia Society.

According to the Minister, six months ago he notified representatives of US administration that Iran is ready to work out an agreement on the exchange of prisoners, but the answer to his proposal was not received. “All these people are being held in American prisons, and we believe that false accusations have been made against them,” Zarif said. “The US claims that false accusations have been made against people in Iran.”
