American actor Zac Efron will star in a remake of Disney’s 1987 comedy Three Men and a Baby for the Disney+ platform, THR reported.
It is known that Gordon Gray, best known for his work on the sports dramas “Newbie” (2002) and “Beyond the Game” (2020), and Ben Affleck in the lead role, were chosen as the producer of the project. The script was written by Will Reichel.
THR says it is looking for a director.
In the original film by Leonard Nimoy, starring Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson, the action revolves around three bachelor friends from New York who one day find a baby on the doorstep of their luxury apartment. They start caring for a girl named Mary, until one day they encounter drug dealers who threaten the child.
The comedy was the hit and the first Disney action movie to break the $100 million mark in US theaters. In 1990, a sequel was released – “Three Men and a Little Lady” with the same cast, but a different director.
It is not yet known when they will start working on the remake of the picture, and who will be the company of Zac Efron.
