Xiaomi is expected to release a new version of the MIUI 13 branded shell in August, but until then smartphones have yet to receive MIUI 12.5. Now the turn has come to Mi 11 Lite 4G and Mi 8 Lite – simplified versions of the flagship Mi 11 and Mi 8 families.
Mi 11 Lite 4G is a recent model that debuted in the smartphone market at the end of March with MIUI 12 firmware based on Android 11 and is still not sold in all countries. Now MIUI 12.5 has been released with build number V18.104.22.168.RKQMIXM.
True, the software assembly is at the stage of “stable beta testing”. But in the near future Xiaomi should start distributing the stable version – unless, of course, problems arise during testing.
In turn, the Mi 8 Lite is a fairly old device and was released in 2018 and came with MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. The smartphone has already received MIUI 10, MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 with Android 9 Pie and Android 10, and now it’s MIUI 12.5. Unfortunately, without Android 11, but only on top of Android 10.
The update is currently available in China with build number V22.214.171.124.QDTCNXM. It spreads gradually and after that it should be released in other countries.
By the way, it is expected that this will be the last update for Mi 8 Lite – the gadget will no longer receive MIUI 13.
