Xiaomi showed new smartphones of the Mi 11 series

Xiaomi held a presentation where it showed many new devices.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro
This smartphone looks exactly like the regular Mi 11, but with a slight difference. The Mi 11 Pro has new colors, and a 5x optical periscope has been added to the camera unit.

The 6.81-inch AMOLED display has a 2K resolution. It is possible to display content at 120 Hz. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. There is nothing new here – similar parameters for the screen of a regular Mi 11.

Like other flagship Xiaomi models, the Mi 11 Pro received the Snapdragon 888, but only with an advanced cooling system. In theory, this should help the smartphone cope with unnecessary system-on-a-chip throttling.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro received three versions. Here are the prices in China (there won’t be a global version, apparently):

  • 8/128 GB – 4999 yuan (approximately $760);
  • 8/256 GB – 5299 yuan (approximately $810);
  • 12/256 GB – 5699 yuan (approximately $870).

An important difference: the battery has become larger. The nominal battery capacity has been increased from 4500 mAh for the regular version to 5000 for the Pro. The smartphone supports 67W charging. There is no charging in the box with the Chinese version of the smartphone, but it will be presented in stores to everyone in need. This is GaN charging for the same 67 watts. With this unit, you can fully charge the battery of the Mi 11 Pro in 36 minutes. The Mi 11 Pro also received 67W wireless charging and 10W reversible charging.

Due to the larger battery, the smartphone has become thicker: 8.53 mm versus 8.06 for the Mi 11. In mass, the Mi 11 Pro also added: 208 versus 196 grams. The housing is protected according to the IP68 standard.

Camera
The main differences between the Pro version and the usual one are in the camera. If the usual Mi 11 has a 108-megapixel main camera, then the Mi 11 Pro has a 1/1.12-inch sensor with a 50-megapixel resolution. This is Samsung ISOCELL GN2. Each pixel is 1.4 µm in size.

The main camera received an eight-element lens – this number should play very well on the final picture quality. The lens aperture is f / 1.95. But the equivalent focal length for a wide-angle camera is very small – 24 mm. Typically, smartphone manufacturers choose 26mm or 28mm. A very wide lens can lead to large distortions in proportions.

The periscope is 5x magnification. The sensor resolution is 8 megapixels. There is an optical stub. Pixel size 1.0 µm.

The third camera is ultra-wide. Its resolution is 13 megapixels. The angle of view of the 16mm lens is 123°. Pixel size 1.23 µm.

The front camera remains identical to the Mi 11: 20 MP, f/2.2, 27 mm.

Mi 11 Ultra
A monstrous smartphone with a monstrous camera. He looks, of course, God forbid.

Many people wonder why a display on the back is needed. For example, it constantly displays the time, charge level and who is calling.

Also, an additional display helps when shooting selfies. In general, Xiaomi did not come up with anything remarkable – all this was already in 2017 in the Meizu Pro 7.

Iron Mi 11 Ultra is no different from Mi 11 Pro: Snapdragon 888, 5000 mAh, 67 W wire and wireless. In fact, Ultra is a more sophisticated version of the Mi 11 Pro in terms of cameras:

  • The main module is the same Samsung ISOCELL GN2 at 50 megapixels. The optics are the same;
  • The ultra-wide-angle camera received a 48 megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with a pixel size of 1.6 µm. The angle of view is 128 °. The lens received seven lenses with an aperture of f / 2.2.
  • Equivalent focal length 12mm;
  • The telephoto lens received the same Sony IMX586 module. A lens with an equivalent focal length of 120mm provides 5x optical zoom;
  • It is also worth noting that there is a ToF module that helps in setting focus and blurring the background when shooting portraits.

The prices for the Mi 11 Ultra in China are as follows:

  • 8/256 GB – 5999 yuan (approximately $ 914);
  • 12/256 GB – 6499 yuan (approximately $ 990);
  • 12/512 GB – 6999 yuan (approximately $ 1070).

Only one 12/256 GB version will be available globally. Its price will be 1199€.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
This smartphone is very light and thin: 159 grams with a thickness of 6.81 mm. As a representative of the flat screen sect, I was pleased that there are no roundings and “waterfalls” here.

The smartphone is presented in six colors at once:

A very pleasant variety of colors.

The smartphone received a 6.55-inch AMOLED display. It is surrounded by a 1.88 mm thick bezel with a 2.75 mm chin. The maximum display frequency of the image is 90 Hz, the maximum brightness at peak is 800 nits.

Mi 11 Lite received a system-on-a Snapdragon 780G chip. The nominal capacity of the battery is 4250 mAh.

Camera:

Wide-angle captures images at 64 megapixels with an aperture of f / 1.79 and a pixel size of 1.4 microns;
Ultra-wide 8 megapixel got a lens with an angle of view of 119 ° and an aperture of f / 2.2;
A 5 megapixel macro lens received optics with an f / 2.4 aperture;
The front camera takes pictures at a resolution of 20 megapixels.

  • 8/128 GB – 2299 yuan (approximately $350);
  • 8/256 GB – 2599 yuan (approximately $400).

UPD: There will be two Mi 11 Lite models available in the European market: regular and 5G.

The differences are in system-on-a-chip:

Regular got Snapdragon 732G;
Mi 11 Lite 5G – Snapdragon 780G.

Xiaomi Mi 11i
The Mi 11i was also shown at the global presentation. This is Poco F3, but with slightly modified hardware. There is the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution with support for 120 Hz.

The smartphone received the flagship system-on-a Snapdragon 888 chip and two versions: 8/128 and 8/256 GB.

The battery is exactly the same as the Poco F3: 4520mAh with a 33W PSU in the box.

The camera has also been updated:

The main module is 108 megapixels. F/1.75 aperture;
8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle module with f/2.2 aperture;
5 megapixel tele-macro camera with f/2.4 aperture.
