WTA changes the system for calculating the world Ranking

Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has announced changes in the system for calculating the rating of tennis players after the resumption of the season. Now the rating will include the results of tennis players from March 2019 to December 2020. A similar decision was previously made by the Association of Professional Tennis Players (APR).

Now in a single ranking will take into account the 16 best results. At the same time, points earned in the same tournaments twice will not be counted.

The points that tennis players earn in tournaments in 2020 will burn out after a similar tournament takes place in 2021, or 52 weeks later, depending on what happens earlier.
