WTA CEO: life is unlikely to return to normal until 2022

WTA boss Steve Simon shared his expectations for the restart of the season. The tour was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic and will resume on August 3 with a tournament in Palermo, Italy.

“The situation is constantly changing. But we must make every effort. We need to learn a lesson from this season, understand how to cope with the virus, and keep moving forward.

You need to figure out how to develop tennis, but keep everyone safe. Life is unlikely to return to normal until 2022.

We need to empower players and tournaments to make money in the new environment. Nobody wants to lose partners and sponsors. Therefore, we are trying to adapt to the new situation, “– The National quotes the words of Simon.
