Woman dies in quarantine at Tokyo airport

A woman in quarantine at Narita Airport near Tokyo died after testing positive for coronavirus, the first death in a quarantine hospital, Kyodo reported, citing the Ministry of Health.

The woman who lived in Hiroshima Prefecture came from Egypt. Upon arrival, she tested positive for the coronavirus, which is why she was quarantined at the airport.

The disease was asymptomatic, but on Saturday morning, the woman did not answer the phone during a daily health survey. When medical workers later came to her room, the woman was found dead. It is noted that this is the first such case in Japan.
