With Trump gone, CNN has lost a significant portion of its audience

According to an analysis by Fox News, from the end of January to March 15, the channel’s audience decreased to 1.6 million viewers.

CNN, which so actively sought the removal of Donald Trump from power, lost a significant part of its audience with the departure of the politician from the post of US president. This conclusion was reached by the Fox News channel, which analyzed data collected by the American research company Nielsen.

According to the channel’s estimates, CNN’s prime-time audience totaled 2.5 million viewers in the period from November 4 last year (immediately after the US presidential election) to January 20 (the day of the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden). From the end of January to March 15, the channel’s audience decreased to 1.6 million viewers, losing 47% of viewers in the age group from 24 to 54 years.

The TV channel, which treated President Trump more favorably than other American media, admitted that with the departure of the Republican from the White House, his rating also decreased – by 13% in prime time. According to Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch, “the audience was disappointed with the election results.” But recently, he noted, the TV channel’s affairs are gradually improving.
