Wimbledon 2021 can be held with empty stands

In 2021, Wimbledon may pass without spectators, according to the press service of the tournament on the official website.

It is reported that the organizers are considering two more options for the competition: with full and partial occupancy of the stands. Everything will depend on the decision of the authorities and healthcare organizations.

“Our priority remains to ensure the safety of everyone involved, especially tournament guests, staff, and athletes. We are working with relevant government and healthcare organizations along with the rest of the sports industry to assess opportunities in the ongoing pandemic, ” – the report said.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this year the tournament was canceled for the first time since 1945.
