WHO records new record for a daily increase in COVID cases

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recorded another record increase in coronavirus cases in the world in the day since the beginning of the pandemic.

As of October 23, on Friday, 445,419 cases were recorded in all countries that keep statistics on cases of infection of the population, which was the highest value since the spring.

The highest daily increase was recorded the day before when it stopped at 429,411 cases in 24 hours.

In total, more than 41.5 million coronavirus infections were detected worldwide during the entire pandemic, and more than 1.1 million of them died.

The leading countries for cases are the United States (8.2 million), India (7.7 million), and Brazil (5.3 million).
