WHO recorded a record daily increase in those infected with coronavirus

The number of detected cases of coronavirus in the world for a day increased by a record of 237,743. It exceeded 13.6 million, in total, more than 585,000 patients with COVID-19 died, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported.

The previous record was recorded on July 12, when more than 230 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in 24 hours.

According to the latest data of the organization, 237,743 cases of infection with a new coronavirus infection were registered during the day, and 5,682 patients with COVID-19 died. Thus, the total number of diagnosed cases of the disease in the world is 13 616 593, the number of deaths – 585 727.

Most cases of infection were registered in North and South America-7,154,840 and Europe-3,008,972.
