Watch a Blue Origin spaceflight play out

Blue Origin will be playing a space flight on its New Shepard device. The minimum cost is almost $5 million.

On June 12, it will be possible to watch live or participate in the bidding for the right to fly into space with the founder of Amazon and billionaire Jeff Bezos.

Bezos founded Blue Origin, which will be streaming live an auction for a seat on the first flight of the New Shepard spacecraft with crew on blueorigin.com. In recent months, Blue Origin has conducted several unmanned spacecraft test flights.

According to Blue Origin, nearly 6,000 people from 143 countries have submitted applications for the opportunity to experience space flight. At the same time, at the end of registration, the maximum rate was $4.8 million.

“All funds will be donated to the Blue Origin Club for the Future, which aims to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM [science, technology, engineering, and mathematics] and help advance space,” the company said in a statement.

The winner of the auction will fly into space on the New Shepard on July 20. The name of the winner will be announced in the coming weeks after its completion.
