The Governor of the state said that the authorities are considering the possibility of mandatory restrictions.
In Washington State, public events may be restricted to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Governor Jay Inslee said on Sunday.
“We are considering introducing requirements for” social distancing,” as we call it,” Inslee said, speaking on CBS.
“We are considering certain steps that, in particular, are aimed at protecting vulnerable groups of the population, our boarding schools for the elderly and similar institutions. We are evaluating the feasibility of mandatory measures,” he added.
According to him, the public has responded well to the introduction of measures of a recommendatory nature, but additional efforts may be required.
“It’s working, but maybe we need to move on to the next step,” the Governor said.
