Washington State has introduced mandatory vaccination for officials and health workers

They must complete a full course of vaccination by October 18.

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has introduced mandatory coronavirus vaccination for most civil servants and health workers. The relevant information was published on the governor’s website.

“Governor Jay Inslee issued a requirement today that most government employees, local contractors, and volunteers must be vaccinated against the coronavirus. This condition is necessary for employment. Civil servants, employees of private medical centers, as well as institutions providing long-term care services, must undergo a full course of vaccination by October 18,” the document says.

Additional measures to combat the coronavirus are being introduced due to the spread of the delta strain of infection. According to the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it accounts for more than 83% of cases of coronavirus infection in the United States. According to the CDC report on the situation with the coronavirus in Provincetown (Massachusetts), even vaccinated people can become infected with the delta variant and become its distributors. Against this background, the CDC has already recommended returning to wearing masks indoors, regardless of the vaccination status.
