Washington extends the contract with defender Lucas Johansen

The NHL club ‘Washington Capitals’ announced on Twitter the conclusion of a contract with defender Lucas Johansen. The agreement is for one year and is bilateral in nature.

The Capitals selected the Canadian defender in the first round of the 2016 draft under the overall 28th overall pick. Last season, 22-year-old Johansen played nine games with the Hershey Birds in the AHL, in which he made two assists with a +3 utility and two minutes of penalty time.

During his AHL career, Johansen spent three seasons. In total, Lucas took part in 137 games, scoring nine goals and 36 assisting partners, while earning a “-24” utility. The defender has not played a single game in the NHL.
