Vivo prepares its first foldable smartphones

It looks like another manufacturer will enter the foldable smartphone market this year and that will be the Chinese company Vivo.

This is hinted at by an application for the following brands in China: NEX Slide, NEX Fold, and NEX Roll. The applicant is Vivo Mobile Communications Company Limited, but the application was filed as early as May 24th.

Unfortunately, the application does not disclose any other details. But it is clear that these will be foldable smartphones and sliders of different form factors, representing the NEX series. It is not surprising, because this series includes devices with an original, unusual design and the latest technologies.

By the way, Vivo has previously filed patents for foldable gadgets, but they have remained on paper. But insiders claim that Vivo is really preparing such a smartphone. It is rumored to be an inward-folding device with 8-inch internal and 6.5-inch external screens. Most likely, the panels will be supplied by Samsung.
