Virgin Galactic began selling tickets for suborbital flights a few years ago. The cost of a seat on the SpaceShipTwo was $200,000. In 2014, sales had to be suspended. But now the company has announced that tickets can be purchased again.
In 2014, during one of the test launches, the ship crashed, killing one of the two pilots. This is what caused the suspension of ticket sales.
After the successful flight of Richard Branson in the framework of the Unity 22 mission, anyone with a sufficient amount of money can again reserve a seat on the ship. But the ticket price has more than doubled – from $200,000 to $450,000.
Recall that the founder of Virgin Galactic, Richard Branson, ascended to an altitude of 84 km, spent several minutes in zero gravity and successfully landed. The American businessman’s journey lasted 14 minutes. The company said it has 600 ticket holders.
