German Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel said that he had made a decision about his future, according to the portal Planet F1.
Ferrari announced in May that the team and the 33-year-old driver have decided to end their partnership after the 2020 season. The media later reported that the four-time world champion was in talks with the Racing Point team, which will be named Aston Martin from next season.
According to Bild, Racing Point plans to terminate the contract with Sergio Perez and invite Vettel in his place. Subsequently, the German racer denied rumors that he had communicated on this topic with the head of the British team, Otmar Safnauer.
“Let’s see what happens. The next couple of weeks should not wait for news and put pressure on me. If the project is interesting, I have something to give him. The amount in the check is not decisive,” Vettel said.
Earlier, Vettel said he was open to any suggestions and did not rule out that he could leave Formula 1 if he did not have a suitable option to continue his career.
