USTA: The US Open Tennis Championships should go according to plan

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) intends to host the United States Open Tennis Championships and Masters Tournament in New York on schedule.

The New York Masters, originally scheduled to take place in Cincinnati, is set to kick off on August 22nd. The US Open is scheduled to run from August 31 to September 13.

“USTA continues to pursue its plan to host the US Open and the Masters in New York. We remain confident that our top priority – the health and safety of all participants in both events – remains the same,” USTA said in a statement. quoted by the Associated Press.

“We have developed a health plan to reduce the risk of infection in a restricted environment of tournament venue and player accommodation. New York State continues to be one of the safest places in the country in terms of the coronavirus environment,” the release said.
