US women’s football team met at home as heroes

In honor of the team in New York will be a special parade with a serpentine.

Megan Rapinoe got out of the plane with champagne in her hands – a sparkling souvenir from the most memorable trip abroad.

“Thank you for your hospitality, France, – said the American football star, – but we are very happy to be back in America.”

The US national team arrived in New York on Monday, after winning the Netherlands team with a score of 2:0 and for the fourth time won the title of World Champions.

Players and team members landed at Newark International airport around 4:30 PM, where they were greeted by cheering fans and a banner “Congratulations to the US team!”

Fans were waiting for them at the hotel in Manhattan. Athletes will be honored all week, and the culmination of the festivities will be a solemn parade on Wednesday, where they will be showered with serpentine and confetti.

“I think everyone is now experiencing incredible sensations,” said team member Alex Morgan.

Rapinoe scored a penalty in the second half and Rose Lavelle scored another goal in the final match. With this began the holiday, which was transferred to the airfield in Newark. The players gathered for a toast and posed for photos, singing, “We are Champions.”

The team received many congratulations on social media, including from President Donald Trump, former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, two-time world Cup champion Mia Hamm, basketball player Stephen Curry, rapper Snoop Dogg, TV presenter Ellen DeGeneres and others.

Dozens of politicians made congratulations, and the leading Democrats in Congress invited the team to Washington.
