US special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker resigned

US special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker resigned after the publication of the text of the complaint of an unnamed employee of the US intelligence services, concerning the conversation of US President Donald Trump with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky. CNN reported, citing three sources familiar with the situation.

– Kurt Volker, the special representative of the USA in Ukraine, resigned the next day after the publication of the message on whistleblowers in which it was claimed that the White House hides contents of telephone conversation of President Donald Trump and the President of Ukraine, — told on air of TV channel.

According to the channel, Volker became a key person in the scandal, which concerns a telephone conversation between Trump and Zelensky on July 25, during which Trump allegedly pressured Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son hunter.

It is the special envoy of the state Department after the telephone conversation of Trump with Zelensky had helped bring Trump’s counsel Rudolph Giuliani and assistant Zelensky Andrey Ermak.

According to The New York Times, Democrats in the House of Representatives of the US Congress summoned Volcker to a hearing on the topic of contacts between Trump and Zelensky, which was to be held on October 3.

The announcement of Volcker’s resignation came hours after the House Foreign Affairs Committee announced plans to hear from him.
