US special envoy comments on Iran’s request to search for Trump

The US special envoy to Iran, Brian Hook, called Iran’s issuance of an arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump and 35 other people for the murder of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps General Qasem Suleimani a “propaganda trick.”

Earlier it was reported that the judicial authorities of Iran require Interpol to declare an international search for more than 30 people “involved in the preparation and handling of the murder of Qasem Suleimani, including political and military figures of the United States and other countries,” including Trump.

“This is a policy that has nothing to do with national security, peace, or promoting stability… This is a propaganda trick that no one takes seriously. We believe that Interpol does not interfere and does not issue “red notices” that are based on a political nature,” Hook said at a news conference in Riyadh, which was broadcast by al – Ikhbariya TV channel.

As previously reported at the headquarters of Interpol in Lyon, the internal rules of Interpol do not allow the international organization to consider the request of the judicial authorities of Iran to search for Trump and other possible participants in the murder of Suleimani.
