US Secretary of State arrives in London for G7 Foreign Ministers’ summit

Antony Blinken said that he is pleased to be among partners and allies again.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he was in London to attend the first face-to-face meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers in two years. He wrote about this on Monday on his Twitter.

“I arrived in London and am glad that the US Embassy in the UK welcomes us. Eight years ago, the United Kingdom, our indispensable ally, last presided over the G7. It is nice to be back among the partners and allies for these discussions,” the US Secretary of State said in a statement.

Earlier it was reported that during the summit, the foreign ministers of the Group of Seven would discuss the fight against coronavirus, countering global threats, and cooperation with Russia. The plenary sessions in central London are scheduled for May 4-5, and the first day of the forum will be devoted to bilateral meetings.
