US school stopped calling Newton’s laws by his name because of the colour of his skin

One of the private schools in New York stopped naming Newton’s laws by their creator’s name because of his skin colour. This is how the school is fighting racism and white supremacy, City Journal reports.

“We no longer call them Newton’s laws. We call them the three fundamental laws of physics. They (the school administration) say that we need to “decentralize whiteness,” one of the high school students said in an interview with the publication. In this way, they want to teach children the idea that there is something more in physics than Newton.

Earlier it was reported that the Oregon authorities found racism in the school math curriculum. For example, the state’s Department of Education said that the idea of white supremacy manifests itself in focus on finding the right answer. Instead of the classical subject, it was proposed to introduce “ethnomathematics”.
