US forces will not participate in ensuring the creation of a security zone in Syria

WASHINGTON – US troops will not participate in ensuring the implementation of agreements on the establishment of a security zone in Northern Syria. On Friday, the Minister of defense Mark Esper stated to journalists.

“No US ground forces will be involved in enforcing the security zone agreements, but we will continue to maintain contacts with both Turkey and the forces of democratic Syria,” he said. Esper also noted that the US “continues to organize the withdrawal of its troops from the North-East of Syria.”
