US exchanges continued to fall, the NASDAQ index of technology companies sank by more than 4%, according to trading data.
At the close of the New York stock exchange, the NASDAQ is down 4.11% to 10847,69 points, having lost about 10% of its value over the last three days of trading.
The broad-based S&P 500 index fell 2.78% to 3331,86 points, while the industrial Dow fell 2.25% to 2700,69 points.
The drop in technology companies ‘ prices was on a broad front. Apple shares fell 6.73% to $ 112,82. Microsoft sank 5.41% to $ 202,66. Facebook shares fell 4.09% to $ 271,16, while Google owner Alphabet Corporation received a 3.64% decline to $ 1523,60.
