US Department of Justice sues Google for market monopolization

The US Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Google, accusing the company of creating a monopoly, the Associated Press reported, citing sources.

According to the agency, the US Department of Justice has accused the company of harming consumers by abusing its dominant position in Internet search. Presumably, later claims could be filed against Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook.

The Justice Department accused Google of abusing its position in the field of online search to destroy competition, thereby harming consumers.

In addition, the Justice Department also accused Google of having an agreement with phone manufacturers, under which they must install an appropriate search engine on their devices.

Recall that the company has been accused of monopoly in the market for the past few years, and American President Donald Trump has spoken out that Google suppresses conservatives.
