US authorities have delayed the ban on the TikTok app for another week-until December 4, TikTok told the court on Wednesday.
“The plaintiffs inform the court that on November 25, the Committee on international investment in the United States granted a delay of another week, from November 27 to December 4, 2020,” TikTok said in a notice to the Washington court.
In mid-November, the Wall Street Journal reported that the US Department of Commerce will not yet implement the actual ban on the TikTok app, while the US courts are considering cases in this regard.
The US administration has said that the app may be linked to Chinese authorities and monitor users. ByteDance, which owns the app, denies this.
The US administration’s initial decision prohibited American companies from downloading the Tik Tok app in their app stores.
