US Ambassador to Ukraine confirms Trump’s pressure on Zelensky

Acting US Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor testified about the pressure that US leader Donald Trump exerted on Vladimir Zelensky. The newspaper The Washington Post reported.

According to the newspaper, Taylor confirmed the fact of some pressure on the President of Ukraine. He said that from the information he had, he was able to understand that Donald Trump was willing to meet with Vladimir Zelensky only after Ukraine fulfilled his condition. According to Taylor, the American leader demanded to conduct an investigation in Ukraine into the activities of the company Burisma, in which Hunter Biden worked.

“By mid-July, it became clear to me that the condition for the meeting (with Trump), which sought President Zelensky, was the investigation of the company Burisma and the alleged interference of Ukraine in the US elections in 2016, ” – Free News quoted Taylor as saying.

He also said that Vladimir Zelensky was going to give an interview to CNN, during which he had to say “the necessary words.” Otherwise, as Taylor understood, the US would have stopped financial assistance to Ukraine.

The acting US Ambassador to Ukraine also said that former us special envoy Kurt Volker, Ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland, Energy Secretary Rick Perry and personal lawyer of President Rudy Giuliani was part of the “informal channel of US policy in Ukraine.”
