US airlines to cut more than 32,000 jobs

US airlines are preparing massive cuts.

Today it became known that 19 thousand jobs will be abolished by American Airlines. Next, the management of United Airlines confirmed its plans to lay off almost 13.5 thousand employees.

The reason is that the US Congress has not approved a new Federal-aid plan. The previous one ended on September 30.

Simultaneously, air carriers previously promised not to lay off staff until the end of September in exchange for $25 billion in subsidies.

If Democrats and Republicans agree on a new tranche in the coming days, the airlines will reconsider their decision.
