BMW has unveiled details of the updated R 1250 RT touring motorcycle, which has received many technical changes and an expanded list of standard equipment.
The bike is equipped with a 1254cc liquid-cooled two-cylinder “boxer” with a system of variable valve lift (ShiftCam), which develops 136 hp. from. and 143 Nm of torque and meets the new environmental standards Euro 5. A new Eco Driving Mode has been introduced to help save fuel.
The Pro package is available as an option for the R 1250 RT with an extended list of driving modes, a manually adjustable user mode and the ability to adjust the engine braking rate (MSR). The bike features a redesigned front fairing and a new LED headlight as standard with additional interior cornering lighting as an option. In addition, the R 1250 RT has a dashboard with a 10.25-inch TFT screen and integrated navigation.
The list of options includes a new audio system, active cruise control, electronic suspension with automatic adjustment to the motorcycle load and hill start assistant, as well as new color options.
The cost of the updated R 1250 RT and the date of the start of sales have not yet been announced.
