U.S. diplomats can stay in Kabul after August 31

The diplomats will remain if it is safe, said the head of the press service of the American Foreign Ministry, Ned Price.

The U.S. authorities do not rule out that American diplomats may remain in the Afghan capital after August 31 if it is safe. This was announced on Tuesday by the head of the press service of the US Foreign Ministry, Ned Price, at a regular briefing for journalists.

“If it is safe and reasonable to leave them for a longer period, then we can consider this possibility,” he said.

Price added that the American side aims to get the diplomats out of Kabul by August 31.
