Twitter will mark posts with false information about COVID-19

The social network Twitter said that from Monday, it would begin marking entries containing false or misleading information about the coronavirus.

“Our goal is to simplify the search for reliable information on Twitter and limit the spread of potentially harmful and misleading content. Starting today, we are introducing new labels and warning messages that will provide additional context and information on certain tweets containing controversial or misleading information regarding COVID-19, ” Twitter said in a statement.

It is noted that the use of a new tool to combat misinformation about coronavirus will also affect “tweets that were sent until today.” Measures will be taken according to the category that a particular tweet falls under: misleading information disputed or unverified statements.

In particular, you can delete a tweet if the information contained in it is false.
