The head of the largest Polish opposition party, the former head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, called the completion of the construction of the “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline an unforgivable mistake made because of Germany’s selfishness.
Earlier on Friday, Gazprom announced that the construction of the “Nord stream-2” gas pipeline was fully completed.
“I believe that this is a mistake, and this is an unforgivable mistake because it has very serious consequences,” Tusk said, speaking on TVN24 on Friday.
He added that the completion of the construction of the “Nord stream-2” is “a mistake resulting from the selfish policy of German interests.”
According to the Polish politician, German Chancellor Angela Merkel often told him in the face-to-face conversations on the topic of “Nord stream-2”: “Yes, I know that this is bad for the European Union.”
“I believe that this is contrary to the interests of the European Union as a whole, not to mention Poland or Ukraine,” Tusk concluded.
