Tusk said he would make a decision on the UK’s request in the coming days

The President of the European Council called the situation with the request to postpone “Brexit” “difficult”.

European Council President Donald Tusk is consulting with EU leaders on the UK’s request to postpone the date of the Kingdom’s exit from the European Union for three months and will decide on further steps soon. He said this on Tuesday during the session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
“The situation is complicated due to recent events in the UK and the British request for a delay,” he said. “I am consulting with leaders on how to respond and will make a decision in the coming days.”

“The outcome of these consultations will largely depend on what the British Parliament decides,” Tusk said. “We must be ready for any scenario,” said the President of the European Council. “But one thing should be clear: as I said to Johnson on Saturday, a no-deal “Brexit” will never be our choice.”
