Tusk called the main mistake of the European Union

Former head of the European Council Donald Tusk said that the UK’s exit from the European Union is one of the biggest mistakes in the history of the EU, reports The Guardian.

The politician noted that during his five years as head of the EU, marked by the crisis in Greece, migration problems and the change in the vector of US policy after the election of Donald Trump, the UK’s exit from the European Union has become the most painful issue.

He said “Brexit” happened because of a campaign marked by an “unprecedented willingness to lie.” Tusk is confident that both the EU and the UK would be better off if there was no “Brexit.”

In addition, the former head of the European Council said that he anticipated the results of the vote two or three months before the referendum in Britain.
