The ex-applicant for a post of the President of Belarus Valery Tsepkalo told that he, along with partners in the United States, might initiate congressional hearings on the situation in Belarus, shortly he is scheduled online meeting with US politicians.
“Tomorrow, we will have this meeting. With congressmen, senators – these are those who are interested in the situation in Belarus. We will have a closed online conference. Ten people have already applied. They are both Democrats and Republicans,” Tsepkalo said.
At the same time, he added that these are mostly “new people,” and not those with whom he communicated when he worked in Washington. “There are few of them left,” the politician said.
He noted that he does not plan to meet with the US Ambassador in Warsaw, where he plans to move from Kyiv. “No,” he said, answering the appropriate question.
“And I think that soon we will do hearings in the US Congress,” Tsepkalo added.
The ex-applicant for a post of the President of Belarus Valery Tsepkalo told that he had discussed the situation in Belarus with the European Parliament.
“But not only that. I am currently meeting with European parliamentarians, and I have also met and communicated with Russian parliamentarians. I will not call them by name, but they are those who are interested in the situation in Belarus, who share our aspirations and beliefs that it should be a civilized democratic country open to the whole world,” Tsepkalo said.
