Trump will hold a meeting with voters instead of a televised debate on October 15

The event is expected to last one hour.

US President Donald Trump will hold a meeting with voters on Thursday, which will be broadcast by NBC, instead of the previously canceled election TV debates. A statement was published on its website on Wednesday.

According to NBC, Trump’s communication with voters will begin at 20:00 East coast time in Miami (Florida) and will last one hour. The broadcast will be hosted by MSNBC, CNBC, NBC, and Spanish – language Telemundo. The discussion will be moderated by NBC’s Today morning show co-host Savannah Guthrie.

The event will be held outdoors and subject to sanitary and epidemiological restrictions. Earlier, Trump’s opponent, Democratic presidential candidate Joseph Biden, also said that he intends to talk to voters instead of the canceled debate. The event will be broadcast on Thursday by ABC.

On Friday, the independent Commission on presidential debates decided to cancel the TV debates of candidates for the post of head of state scheduled for October 15 due to disagreements about the format. The Commission intended to hold a second round of debates in a remote format connected with the detection of coronavirus in the American leader. The head of the White House said that he does not plan to participate in them in this case.
