Trump will get a million dollars back for a skyscraper

Former US President Donald Trump is owed about a million dollars for taxes on a skyscraper in Chicago. As it became known to the Chicago Sun-Times, he must return part of the payments for 2011.

It turned out that the local authorities overestimated the cost of hotel rooms and premises in the building, so Trump had to pay a larger amount than he should have.

However, if they decide to return the money to the former American leader, they will be taken from property taxes owed to the city of Chicago, and a greater extent, this may affect public schools: they account for about 540 thousand dollars.

The International Hotel and Trump Tower are located on the banks of the Chicago River — at the place where it flows into Lake Michigan. The building has a hotel, retail premises, and a spa center. Trump initially said that most of the shops in the skyscraper are empty because there were no tenants on them, so the premises do not have much value. The Chicago authorities, in turn, argued that empty spaces nevertheless increase the value of the entire building.
