Trump transferred his salary for the quarter to fight the coronavirus

US President Donald Trump transferred $ 100,000 to the country’s Ministry of Health and Human Services — his entire salary for the fourth quarter of last year. White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham announced on her Twitter page.

“Donald Trump has committed to donating his salary during his time in office. Keeping his promise and for the safety of the American people, he is donating his salary for the fourth quarter of 2019 to the Department of Health and Human Services to support ongoing efforts to counter, contain and combat the coronavirus,” the spokeswoman wrote. She attached a photo of the corresponding check signed by the American leader to the message.

After winning the election, Trump refused the President’s salary, which is $ 400 thousand a year. However, by law, it must be paid, and the President announced that he intended to give it to various charitable purposes. So, he transferred his salary to the ministries of internal security, veterans affairs, and transportation.

Trump does not consider it inevitable that a new type of coronavirus will spread in the United States. He confirmed this when speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday.

“Well, anything can happen. But I would not say “inevitable” at all,” — the American leader stressed. Trump was asked to say whether he believes it is inevitable that the new coronavirus will spread throughout the United States and that the American authorities will develop more decisive measures to combat the disease it causes.
