Trump signed a law to extend support for small businesses

US President Donald Trump has signed a law extending the small business support program, the White House said on Saturday.

Initially, the $ 660 billion small business loan program was in effect until Tuesday, but Congress voted to extend it until August 8.

The program compensates small businesses for the cost of renting premises and employee salaries, provided that the small business will not conduct layoffs.

The program was extended against the background of a sharp increase in cases of coronavirus in the US in June and the cancellation of previously imposed easing restrictions in many states.
