Trump says he has no plans to become Speaker of the House of Representatives

Former US President Donald Trump said that he does not plan to try to become speaker of the House of Representatives following the midterm elections of 2022.

“I’ve heard it being talked about, more and more. I wouldn’t consider it, but of course, there’s a lot of talk about it. I have a good relationship with Kevin (McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House). Let’s hope that we will traditionally do everything,” Trump said.

Earlier, the media wrote that Trump does not rule out the possibility of running for Congress and, in the event of his victory and the victory of the Republicans in the elections as a whole, to claim the post of speaker.
