US President Donald Trump told Fox News that, in his opinion, the demonstrations at the White House on the last night of the Republican Party Convention last week were paid for by “some very stupid rich people.”
Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the White House on August 27 during Trump’s speech, demanding an end to racism and police brutality. Demonstrators tried to shout over Trump as he spoke while accepting the GOP nomination.
The President suggested that left-wing activism is promoted by “people you’ve never heard of, people who are in a dark shadow.”
“The money comes from some very stupid rich people who don’t understand that if their cause wins, which it never will, they will be thrown to the wolves as you’ve never seen before,” he said.
Trump did not go into detail.
The President also criticized corporations that supported the Black Lives Matter movement, saying that they took “the easiest path,” which is “very dangerous.”
“Black Lives Matter is a Marxist organization,” the President said.
