The former head of the White House believes that, based on the results of the last election, in which he secured the votes of more than 75 million Americans, he still has a high level of support.
Former US leader Donald Trump is seriously considering the possibility of participating in the election race for the US presidency in 2024. He said this on Monday evening in an interview with Fox News.
“First of all, I would like to say that this is still very far away,” Trump said in response to a question about the chances of his participation in the race in the next presidential election. At the same time, the former head of the White House noted that, based on the results of the last election, in which he secured the votes of more than 75 million Americans, he still has a high level of support.
“I will say this: I take this [the idea of running in the next presidential election] very seriously. More than serious. But from a legal point of view, I would not want to expand on this yet,” Trump said.
In March, the former president said that after the midterm elections in the country, which will be held in 2022, he intends to make a final decision on the possibility of again applying for the post of head of the US administration. Earlier, he expressed confidence that the Republicans have a chance to regain control of both chambers of the US Congress following the results of the 2022 elections. On February 28, the former leader, during a speech at the conference of conservative circles of the United States in Orlando (Florida), admitted that he could again take part in the fight for the post of head of state.
