President Donald Trump said that restrictions on crossing the US-Canada border caused by the COVID-19 pandemic would be lifted “soon enough.” Previously, the US and Canada agreed to keep it in effect until at least October 21.
Trump said: “We are looking at the border with Canada. Canada is ready to open it, and we want to get back to normal.”
The White House did not explain what terms the US President said.
Bill Blair, Canada’s public safety Minister, confirmed that the restrictions would continue for at least a month.
The US has a similar agreement with Mexico, which also continues until October 21.
