Trump ordered to start withdrawing the National Guard from Washington

US President Donald Trump has ordered the withdrawal of the National Guard from the US capital of Washington, saying that the situation is under full control.

“I have just ordered our National Guard to begin the process of withdrawing troops from Washington, DC everything is now under full control. They will go home, but they can return quickly if necessary. Last night, there were far fewer protesters than expected!” – the American leader said on Twitter.

Earlier, Trump thanked the police, the National Guard, and the US Secret service for their actions in Washington during the protests caused by the death of African-American George Floyd.

As the American President noted, the authorities expected that many more people would take part in the protests in Washington.

On Saturday, thousands of people rallied against racism and police violence in Washington in memory of an African-American man killed in Minneapolis, George Floyd. Saturday’s events in the American capital were peaceful.
