Trump opposed the tightening of COVID restrictions

The current American leadership does not trust scientists, the former US president believes.

Former US President Donald Trump spoke out against the tightening of COVID restrictions, which will also apply to children. This is stated in his statement issued.

Joe Biden (the current US president) and his administration have not learned any lessons from last year. Brave Americans have learned to live safely and responsibly and fight [the spread of the virus],” Trump said.

“We will not move in the opposite direction. We will not put masks on our children,” he said, urging US residents “not to give up.” At the same time, he stressed that the current American leadership does not trust scientists.

Earlier on Tuesday, the head of the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) USA Rochelle Walensky said that the country’s authorities have tightened the recommendations on wearing masks for those vaccinated against COVID. In particular, the CDC recommended that even fully vaccinated people wear masks indoors in public places to help prevent the transmission of the delta variant and protect others. The recommendations apply to teachers, other school employees, and students, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.
