The US President Donald Trump has nominated Kelly Craft, the US Ambassador to Canada, as the country’s permanent representative to the UN.
“Kelly has done an outstanding job representing our nation, and I have no doubt that under her leadership, our country will be represented at the highest level. Congratulations to Kelly and her family!”
The candidacy of Kelly Craft will be approved by the US Senate.
Under President Trump, the US Ambassador to the UN was the former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. After her resignation at the end of 2018, Trump wanted to appoint a press Secretary of the state Department and former TV presenter Heather Nauert, but she refused. According to unconfirmed reports, this may be due to the illegal status of the nanny of her children.
