Trump is not going to cancel the Republican Convention because of the coronavirus

US President Donald Trump said that he is not going to cancel the Republican Convention scheduled for August because of the coronavirus.

“I am not going to cancel the Congress in any case,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News.

“I think we will be in great shape long before then,” the US leader added.

The Convention is scheduled for August 24-27 in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the Convention, Trump should be nominated for a second presidential term. In the absence of serious rivals and with the support of the party leadership, Trump easily secured the number of electors needed for the nomination at the Convention.
